ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – A fire overnight left several people standing out in sub-freezing temperatures wearing very little clothing.
St. Louis fire captain Dan Sutter says they responded to the Ramada Inn plaza hotel on 9th Street downtown just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.
About 50 hotel occupants were evacuated as firefighters searched for the source of smoke in the hotel.
Many had to wait outside nearly an hour until it was determined that a malfunctioning air handling system.
No injuries reported.

Fire Destroys Vacant Building Overnight
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) –Firefighters also responded to a fire in the 5000 block of Ridge overnight.
The vacant three-story home was completely destroyed, again with no injuries reported.
