It has been a very good holiday season at the Fox Theater, both for audiences flocking to see the hottest musical on the boards, “Wicked,” but also for The Fox which is selling tickets costing $38 to $150 a seat, even more for some prime time seats and special ticket packages.
The Fox has announced that “Wicked, now in its 4th visit to St. Louis, has set two significant box office records during this engagement. The show, which opened December 12th and runs through January 6th, broke its own one week gross mark at The Fox by taking in $2, 755, 070 for the week ending December 30th. That’s the largest amount for one week of any musical to ever play The Fox.
Additionally, that figure also is the biggest gross for one week of performances of any touring musical ever in North America. In addition to the normal ticket venues, The Fox is holding a ticket lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats for only $25 immediately before each performance.
