ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - There were another 1,200 new flu cases in Missouri this past week.
29 states in the U.S. are already reporting high levels of influenza like illness says the C.D.C.’s Tom Skinner.
Missouri continues to see regional flu activity with close to 10,000 flu cases this season, up nearly 19-hundred percent over the past five year median for this time of year.
Eastern Missouri leads the way in flu cases with more than 3900 so far, including nearly 1400 in St. Louis County, nearly 800 in St. Charles County and about a thousand in the city of St. Louis.
And according to local health officials here, we’re just entering what is traditionally seen as the peak flu season.
