Three month old Craig Prom was found abandoned in an apartment complex hallway in Breckenridge Hills.
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - An infant has been found abandoned in a car seat in a Breckenridge Hills apartment building.
A man leaving for work found the four-to-six-month-old boy at about five o’clock this morning in a hallway in the Hickory Trace Apartments on DeHart Place, right off St. Charles Rock Road.
Police Sgt. Roy Simmons tells KMOX that when police got there, they immediately began looking for the parents. “We knocked on every apartment door and the people who answered said they didn’t know anything about the baby.”
Simmons said police do not know how long the child had been in the hallway. “The person who found the baby, he went to bed about eight o’clock last night and the baby wasn’t there so you got between eight and five.”
Simmons says the baby was fully dressed and appeared to be fine, but he’s been taken to a hospital to be checked out. The Missouri Department of Social Services’ Family Support Division will be taking custody of him until the parents are located.
