ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Police continue to assemble the pieces of the puzzle involving a Thursday night killing at a south St. Louis business.
They arrested 33-year-old Kenneth Payne on charges of first-degree murder, assault, and armed criminal action.
A 28-year-old woman was also taken into custody. Police have only said employees accused her of stealing merchandise from Sam’s Beauty Supply on South Grand.
One of the employees— identified as only a 22-year-old man — was shot to death while trying to pursue the theft suspect.
A second employee — a 30-year-old woman — was also injured. Police say she’s in serious condition at a hospital.
Murder suspect Kenneth Payne is being held in jail without bond.
