EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – Charges have been filed in the shooting death of 44 year-old Tabitha Milton-Rush whose body was found along I-255 near Bethalto Saturday morning.
Major Case Squad investigators were tip-lipped about how they solved the case so quickly, but they did say the suspect, Raymond Victor Reed and the victim had been a couple for less than a year.
Reed voluntarily gave himself up to police Saturday night.
Police believe Reed shot Milton-Rush in the head somewhere away from Bethalto, then put her body in his Cadillac and drove to the Bethalto-area in an attempt to conceal her murder.
Reed is now charged with concealment of a homicide and first degree murder.
Investigators would not reveal a motive or whether there was past domestic violence.
