ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis teenager faces sentencing in March after pleading guilty to assaulting a 54-year-old man in a “knockout game” attack.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 18-year-old Kwame Thomas pleaded guilty to second-degree assault on Monday. The attack happened in November 2011. The victim survived.

In the knockout game, people are picked at random and beaten. The attacks are sometimes captured on video and some have been posted on social media sites.

In another St. Louis case, a 20-year-old suspect is charged with first-degree murder and faces trial in April for allegedly killing a 72-year-old immigrant from Vietnam during a knockout game attack in April 2011.
