EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – For the second time in a month, a worker has been attacked while doing their job in East St. Louis.
This time it was a Charter Communications cable installer who was working at the apartment complex in the 900 block of North 70th Street.
Police say as he was finishing his job he was approached by four men wearing hoodies. “They hit him in the head with some sort of object,” East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore said. “At that time they robbed him of his two cell phones and his wallet.”
The victim was taken to a hospital.
Last month, a UPS driver was kidnapped and robbed in East St. Louis.
Police Chief Floore is encouraging companies to let police know when they send workers into his city, and is advising officers to keep an eye out when they see a worker on the job.
