East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – In the wake of an attack on a Charter Communications cable installer and a UPS driver, the residents of East St. Louis are being asked to help protect those who come into the city to deliver packages or pizzas, install cable or do other work.
“Lets have our citizens look out for those people, lets have our citizens look out for each other. If you see something that is out of the ordinary call the police immediately,” Mayor Alvin Parks told KMOX.
Parks says residents should also let police know when a service worker is coming to their home, so they can patrol the area.
East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore took it a step further and reached out to companies encouraging them to let police know when they’re sending workers into his city.
