NEWS ATHENS, Ill. (KMOX) — An 8 year old New Athens girl is mauled by 2 dogs owned by the town’s former police chief.

The girl was walking down the street with a friend, the dogs somehow got loose and attacked the girls.

A woman who lived around the corner heard the girls scream so she grabbed a bat and hit the dogs.
