UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (AP) - One person is in custody after a lengthy chase through the St. Louis region.

The chase began Monday night in Maryland Heights and wound through unincorporated areas of the county, then through Overland and into University City. The driver jumped out of the car and ran into a neighborhood, but was arrested a short time later. A police car was struck during the chase but no injuries were reported.

Police have not said what started the chase.
