ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — The St. Louis Rams have reportedly found a defensive coordinator in coach Rob Ryan according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. The hiring would replace Gregg Williams, who was suspended the entire 2012 season for his role in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal.
Rob Ryan has been a coach in football since 1987. He’s been in the National Football League since 1994 when he broke through with the Arizona Cardinals, then coached by his father, Buddy Ryan. He is also the twin brother of current New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan.
Ryan, 50, has been a defensive coordinator in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders (2004-08), Cleveland Browns (2009-10) and most recently the Dallas Cowboys (2011-12).
There has been no official release from the Rams.
