ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A member of the KMOX family receives a big honor, Sunday night.

Sportscaster Ron Jacober gets inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

“I was thinking the other day about all the people I’ve interviewed — the thousands of interviews I’ve had, the good ones and the bad — I thought to myself, ‘I get paid to do this?’ I should be paying someone. In my next lifetime I’m going to have to get a real job,” he says.

Jacober and his family are in Springfield for enshrinement ceremonies.

He says the magic of the moment began to hit him a few days ago, “I had to autograph about 400 pieces of memorabilia that they use somehow down there. I had writer’s cramp. I’d never signed my name so many times before.”

Other notable members of the 2013 class include Cardinals World Series MVP David Eckstein and pro wrestling legend Harley Race.
