Trial Begins For Alleged North County Rapist

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) – A man awaiting trial for the sexual assault of a child in 2008 is scheduled to stand trial this week for the 2011 rape of an 82-year-old woman.

Police say that late on a June night, 24-year-old Dary McCoy posed as a repairman to get into the woman’s north St. Louis County apartment. Once inside. he allegedly pulled a gun on her, taped a sock in her mouth, and bound her with the string of her nightgown.

Investigators say they have DNA evidence and also recovered items stolen from the apartment at McCoy’s home in the 10100 block of Ventura Drive.

McCoy is being tried on six counts, including forcible rape and forcible sodomy. Jury selection is scheduled to begin today.

McCoy has yet to be tried for the earlier attack in which he allegedly assaulted a child under the age of 14 in St. Ann.
