George Waiksnis
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) - A Washington Missouri man has been charged with felony assault after he allegedly fired several times at a police officer during a traffic stop Tuesday.
40-year-old George J. Waiksnis was pulled over on eastbound I-44 at the Eureka city limit, but as the St. Louis County officer approached three shots were fired from the suspect’s car, with at least one striking the patrol car.
The officer was not injured.
The suspect sped away but soon lost control and struck the center median at Hwy. 141.
After initially refusing to leave his vehicle, Waiksnis was taken into custody.
