ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - You saw it during Sunday’s Super Bowl, you loved it, and so did America. Now the star of Budweiser’s chart-topping Super Bowl spot has a name.
The newborn is now known as Hope. That was the winning name among more than 60,000 submissions which came in to AB-InBev through Facebook and Twitter.
Budweiser officials say it reflects the “optimism and happy ending” of the commercial where a trainer reunites with the horse he raised from a foal.
Some of the other names which received serious consideration were Buddy, Star, Raven, Spirit and Stevie. Of course, it was the Stevie Nicks song “Landslide” that added a lot of the emotional heft to the minute-long spot, which finished atop USA Today’s annual poll.
Meanwhile Budweiser is also announcing that the first male Clydesdale born this year has been named “Stan” in honor of Cardinals great Stan Musial, who passed away last month.
