ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Brace yourself, the steadily increasing gas prices should continue inching up throughout most of the Spring.
Tom Kloza, of the Oil Price Information Service, told KMOX’s Mark Reardon, “We’ll peak somewhere between now and let’s say Cinco de Mayo.”
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in St. Louis is $3.50 according to price tracking service gasbuddy.com.
That’s actually down slightly from two days ago, but up sharply from a week ago.
In the meantime, Kloza warns that local gas prices could still rise by 25 to 30 cents, especially as stations switch to the more expensive “summer blend” gas.
The price of oil fell to near $95 a barrel on Wednesday as a report suggested rising crude supplies in the United States.
