ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The domino effect of flight delays and cancellations as a result of a massive snowstorm slamming the Northeast is already being felt by travellers at Lambert-St. Louis airport.
“We’re already showing about 17 departures cancelled,” Lambert spokesman Jeff Lea told KMOX News at mid-morning. “A lot of those are to Newark (New Jersey) and LaGuardia (New York City).”
Slightly fewer of the scheduled arriving flights were already cancelled, according to Lea.
He says it’s a very good idea to stay in touch if you’re scheduled to either catch a plane heading east or pick up passengers from a flight originating in the storm zone.
“The best bet is to check and contact your airline,” he explained. “Either directly through their 1-800 numbers or online.”
Flight information will also be constantly updated at Lambert’s own website, http://www.flystl.com.
Lea added that many more flights are likely to be delayed or cancelled as the storm continues to pound major destinations in the northeast.
