ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, but there’s time for one more big party during tonight’s Fat Tuesday Parade that begins at 7 p.m. at the Edward Jones Dome.

The parade will leave staging heading south on Broadway to Washington Avenue before wrapping up at 14th street.

This section of Broadway will be closed to vehicular traffic between 6:00 p.m. and approximately 7:45 p.m. after all the parade units have departed staging.

There will be no parking on Washington Avenue between Broadway and 14th Street; and Broadway between Cole and Washington after 4:00 p.m. Police will ticket and tow cars in these areas. These areas are well marked with No Parking signs.

Meanwhile, the cleanup effort’s still underway in Soulard after this weekend’s Mardi Gras celebration.

One man was killed by police when he pulled a gun on them, but Corrie Hammerstone with Hammerstone’s at 9th and Russell says things went well for the most part, except for an unexplained lull in business Saturday afternoon.

She says they’ve been counting on the increased business provided by Mardi Gras because Hammerstone’s, which provides a shuttle to and from Blues games, has been hit hard by the late start to the hockey season due to the lockout.
