BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) -  Police in Belleville say a man arrested last week was an unlisted sex offender who had been living on the streets at various places throughout St. Clair County.

61-year-old Louis Davis is listed in police records as being “homeless”.

When he was arrested last week a computer check revealed an active warrant on Davis out of Jackson County Ill. for failing to register as a sex offender.

It was determined that he had not been registering as a sex offender every 7 days as required by law.

He’s jailed on $30,000 bond.
