ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – There was “sticker shock” at area gas pumps, Saturday morning.
According to the website Gas Buddy.com , the average price of regular unleaded jumped 13 cents in one day to put St. Louis equal to the national average of $3.66 per gallon.
St. Louis is generally lower than the national average.
Just a week ago, local motorists were paying $3.47 per gallon.
A month ago, the price was $3.05.
Analysts say seasonal maintenance at refineries, this time of year, can crimp supplies and drive up prices.
