TROY, IL. (KMOX) – Police say a couple from Highland Illinois who are about to be married were fighting on a parking lot in Troy and when Deputies arrived one of them kicked an officer.

It happened in the 9000 block of State Route 162 in Troy.

Police say 34 year old Christopher Williamson and 27 year old Melissa Bailey were involved in a physical altercation.

Melissa Bailey allegedly became confrontational with deputies when they began to arrest Christopher Williamson and kicked an officer as she was being placed in a squad car.

Williamson is charged with Battery. Bailey is charged with Domestic Battery. They were transported to the Madison County Jail. Both posted bond and were released.
