Leonard Ingram
CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) – A tow truck driver is accused of stealing at least two vehicles that broke down in St. Louis County last week.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants on Wednesday, for Leonard T, Ingram. Ingram is a driver for Ingram Towing out of Webster Groves.
Authorities say the 55 year-old stole a car that broke down along Interstate 270 near Highway 367 on Valentine’s Day. A day later, Ingram stole a car on the side of Interstate 70 near Earth City, according to St. Louis County Police.
This isn’t the first time Ingram or Ingram Towing has been suspected of stealing cars.
Ingram was caught trying to steal a car in October of 2012.
Ingram Towing has not had a City or County License to do business as a tow operator since June of 2012. The company has focused primarily on scrapping junk cars (or stolen vehicles that are ten years old or older).
St. Louis County Police are asking the public to report suspicious towing activity to Crimestoppers, the St. Louis County Police Auto Crime Unit or their local police departments.
