SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP)- Pitcher Aaron Crow, a 2011 All-Star for the Kansas City Royals, has agreed to a $1.28 million, one-year contract that represents the maximum 20 percent cut.
The University of Missouri alum who went to Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas was the 12th overall pick in the 2009 amateur draft. He agreed that September to a $3 million, three-year contract that included a $1.5 million signing bonus and a major league salary of $1.1 million in 2012.
He was 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA in 72 relief appearances last season, a year after he made the AL All-Star team as a rookie.
Kansas City also agreed Saturday to one-year deals with right-handers Luis Mendoza ($532,000), Louis Coleman ($511,000) and Guillermo Moscoso ($504,250), and left-hander Francisley Bueno ($492,650).
