Major Case Squad Has Break in Swansea Case

SWANSEA, Ill. (KMOX) – A deputy commander of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis says a suspect is in custody for the death of a Swansea woman.

Captain Jeff Wild tells KMOX investigators will be applying for warrants, Sunday afternoon, and more information could be released after that.

He says a landlord found the body of 50-year-old Carmen Boyd inside her apartment on Marcella Drive in Swansea, on Friday.

The town’s police chief says the last murder in Swansea was in 2006.
