The venerable Hi Pointe Theater continues their classic film series Saturday, March 9, at 10:30 am with a one-time showing of “The Quiet Man” from 1952. The film stars John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. It is about a retired American boxer who returns to his native soil and pursues an unlikely romance with a poor Irish farm girl.
Directed by John Ford, who was a personal friend of Wayne and O’Hara in real life, the film won Oscars in 1952 for best director and best cinematography.
