Suspect Crashes After Bi-State Chase

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) – A suspect in a St. Louis-area home invasion is hospitalized after leading police on a two-state chase that ended in a crash.

The chase ended about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect’s pickup struck an oncoming truck in St. Charles County, Mo. Police described his injuries as moderate. The suspect’s name has not been released.

Police say the home invasion occurred in Madison County, Ill. Police spotted a Chevrolet Silverado matching the description of the one used in the home invasion and began a pursuit.

The pickup crossed a Mississippi River bridge into Missouri, where St. Louis County officers picked up the pursuit until the truck crashed in St. Charles County. The driver of the truck struck by the pickup was not hurt.
