ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — St. Louis is number one on another national list – but this the Chamber of Commerce will want to highlight.
After finding itself topping past reports on things like crime and STD’s, the latest survey compiled by dice.com pinpoints St. Louis as the fastest-growing city for tech jobs.
“St. Louis is one of only two markets around the whole country to finish in the top ten fasts growing markets for tech jobs in the last two years,” said Tom Silver Dice.com’s Senior Vice President.
Silver said tech openings posted by St. Louis-based companies, like Anheuser-Busch and IBM are up 25-percent over the past year, and there’s more good news.
“We’re also seeing increases in salary. So the average salary according to a dice.com salary survey in the St. Louis market was up 13-percent,” that average now tops $81-thousand, according to Silver.
The rest of the top 5 after St. Louis are Charlotte North Carolina, Austin Texas, Phoenix and Detroit.
