BRENTWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) — Property values, crime, and traffic are just a few of the complains residents in one Brentwood neighborhood have about a proposed group home for some twenty “children-in-need” at the corner of Brentwood Blvd and Madge Avenue.
“People coming to visit them from troubled areas could bring unwanted attention in Brentwood,” one concerned neighbor told KMOX.
A flyer was mailed to Brentwood residents this week informing them of the proposed home.
The Executive Director of the Boys Hope Girls Hope home says no children with criminal backgrounds are allowed, and all are selected based on academics and good behavior. A public hearing is set Monday night, March 18 at 7 p.m. at Mary Magdalene church.
“I see it as a bad thing for the neighborhood. A good thing for the kids, but a bad thing as a neighborhood,” said one resident.
“As long as there’s nothing going on, no one messing with our stuff, then we should be fine,” said another.
