BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) – Officials in a southern Illinois school district say a .22-caliber bullet has been found on a school bus.
The same type of bullet was also found in February in the hallway of the school in Belleville.
Louis Obernuefemann is superintendent of Belle Valley School District 119.
He says a search of the bus and student lockers did not turn up any weapons after the discovery Thursday. The students who rode the bus were also questioned.
He tells the Belleville News-Democrat that the district has requested the help of police in addressing such situations.
Police also investigated when a bullet was found at the Belle Valley School last month.
