Lawmakers to Attend Meeting on Bridgeton Landfill

BRIDGETON, Mo. (KMOX) — Several activist groups are claiming there has been “misinformation” about the situation at the West Lake Landfill, prompting those groups to hold today’s meeting with elected officials.

The meeting is put on by the Teamsters Union, Jobs with Justice and the Missouri Coalition for the Environment.

Coalition Spokesman Ed Smith says lawmakers should hear about the West Lake Landfill from more than just the landfill owners.

Smith said local, state and federal officials have been invited but he’s not sure exactly who will show up.
