Billikens Bound For San Jose

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Armed with a new #13 national ranking, the St. Louis University Billikens basketball team boarded buses outside Chaifetz Arena, Monday, heading for the airport and a flight to California.

Fourth-seeded SLU plays New Mexico State in San Jose, Thursday, in its opening game of the NCAA Tournament’s Midwest Regional.

After winning the Atlantic 10 regular and postseason titles, the Billikens jumped up from a #16 ranking in both the AP and coaches polls to #13.

St. Louis has an RPI ranking of 16. Missouri’s RPI is 36, and Illinois is at 39 this week.
