Jacob Fickle
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – More charges have been filed for a 24-year-old Godfrey man who allegedly drove into a home and killed the elderly man inside.
Tuesday Madison County Circuit Court amended the charges against Jacob Fickle after tests revealed he had THC (Cannabis), Cocaine, Alprazolam, and alcohol in his system when the incident happened.
On the night of January 13th authorities received two calls, one regarding a disturbance at a home, another shortly after regarding a vehicle hitting a house.
Police say Fickle got in a physical argument at a home in the 200 block of Mercury Drive, in Godfrey, before taking a family member’s car keys and leaving. Several blocks later he smashed into a home in the 100 block of Saturn Drive.
Madison County Coroner’s Office says 73-year-old Marlin F. Bushnell died from injures received when the SUV smashed through his home.
Fickle now faces four felony counts of aggravated driving while under the influence resulting in death. Fickle was also charged with two misdemeanor charges of domestic battery in connection with the original disturbance.
