ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Two St. Louis Police officers are being asked “Where’s the pot?” This after dashboard camera footage shows one of the officers confiscating a small bag of what appeared to be marijuana during a traffic stop, but that bad never made it to evidence.
This happened in February, but an audit of dashboard camera footage uncovered the discrepancy.
Police Chief Sam Dotson told KMOX he doesn’t believe there was any wrongdoing. “I have no reason to believe the officer kept the marijuana for personal use, I have no reason to believe they kept for sale.
“They had an obligation to follow our department policies and follow that through the change of custody to make sure it’s conveyed to out laboratory.”
Those officers are not on suspension, but could face disciplinary actions in the coming days. The investigation is being handled internally.
