ST LOUIS (KMOX) - A jail nurse has been charged with attempting to spring an inmate from the St. Louis Justice Center.

The nurse is 41 year old Sherry Ann Young. The prisoner is 38 year old John Wesley Jones, one of the men involved in the A.T.M. Solutions heist.

Jones was at the Justice Center awaiting trial on another robbery charge. He had also served time at the St. Charles County Jail for kidnapping. Thats where he met jail nurse Young.

They’d kept in touch through the years and now prosecutors say Young bought him a gun and had slipped him a handcuff key.

Last September jailers found a metal toilet and sink was removed from Jones’ cell wall giving him a way out.

They also found a bag filled with sheets and clothing and discovered insulation had been removed from around an exterior window.

In October jailers found a handcuff key believed to be the one given to him by nurse young. Sherry Ann Young is now charged with aiding escape of a prisoner.
