Proposition P, Mayor Slay Both Winners

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – With all precincts counted in the City of St. Louis, Mayor Francis Slay has won reelection over Green Party candidate James Eldon McNeely. Slay had nearly 82 % of the unofficial vote count.

Proposition P won approval in both the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County. In the city the sales tax increase for parks, trails, and the Archgrounds passed with 67% of the unofficial count. In St. Louis County Proposition P passed with about 53% of the “yes” votes.

There is already a lawsuit planned to stop the 3/16 cent sales tax. The suit is planned by the group “Vote No on Prop P.”

In other St. Louis County returns Harold Sanger won the Clayton mayoral race with 41% in a three way race. In the Chesterfield mayoral race Bob Nation won with 52%. In Fenton Michael Polizzi won the mayor’s race with 74%.

In Ellisville Gary Voss, Michael Cahill, and Cynthia Pool won council seats in a pertinent race as the council prepares to impeach Ellisville Mayor Adam Paul.
