Ellisville’s Pirrello: Why Didn’t Mayor Paul Testify?

ELLISVILLE, Mo. (KMOX) — Three days of grinding, grueling testimony, and Ellisville City Council members still haven’t decided what to do with Mayor Adam Paul. In fact, they’re taking the weekend to mull over his impeachment.

Legally the hearing had to conclude by midnight last night, but according to the city’s charter a verdict didn’t have to be rendered. Councilman Matt Pirrello said he expects that decision to be made on Monday.

But questions remain why Mayor Paul let the hearing end without taking the chance to explain himself.

“I was dying to hear from him,” Pirrello told KMOX. “I have not heard him deny any of this.”

Mayor Paul says he expects he will be ousted. If that happens, he says he will sue.
