Suspect Accused of Spiking Soup Comes Forward

MANCHESTER, Mo. (KMOX) – Police say they have the man who allegedly put something in the soup at a Manchester Dierberg’s Market salad bar on Friday.

Charges have yet to be filed by the prosecutor’s office, but the individual who came to the police station with an attorney was booked on second degree property damage and released. Police say he admitted to shopping at the grocery store but denied putting anything in the soup.

On Tuesday Manchester police released this store surveillance video. Police say the video below and another video helped ID the suspect.

Witnesses in the store at 421 Lafayette Center first reported the alleged soup tampering and store employees removed the crock of soup before anyone could get to it.
