OSAGE BEACH, Mo. (AP) – Three central Missouri teenagers are accused of using a newborn baby to help hide goods being shoplifted from a Walmart store.
Osage Beach police say the teens, ages 17 and 19, entered the store Sunday night carrying a 12-day-old baby in a car seat. Investigators say the teens picked items from shelves and hid some of them in the car seat under the infant.
The teens, from the towns of Laurie and Camdenton, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of shoplifting less than $500 worth of goods. Police contacted other authorities on possible child endangerment charges.
