GODFREY, Ill. (KMOX) – Metro East authorities are hoping someone out there can help them identify a pair of subjects wanted for questioning in connection with a home burglary earlier this week.

On Tuesday afternoon deputies with the Madison County sheriff’s office responded to the 500 block of East Delmar Ave. in Godfrey.

They met with a man who told them his home had been broken into by several persons who ran off after he confronted them.

The suspects had forced their way into the home and were apparently targeting only metal items to steal, most likely to be sold as scrap.

Later, deputies learned that two subjects matching a general description given by the homeowner, had been at a local auto dealership.

While not clear if they took part in the robbery itself, authorities would like to speak with them about it.

Anyone who believes they know the subjects captured on the surveillance video is asked to contact the Madison County sheriff’s office at (618) 692-4433, or (618) 692-0871.
