(Hazelwood, MO) KMOX -– Nearly 76 hours after an EF2 tornado hit the Hazelwood area, City officials are partnering with United Way 2-1-1 to offer a Resources Fair for residents affected by the severe
storm. The event will be held at Hazelwood Community Center, located at 1186 Teson Road, in White Birch Park from 12 Noon to 3 p.m.
The United Way is setting up a Multi-Agency Resource Center, which is a central location where residents impacted by the storm can meet with representatives from various local and state agencies, as well as human
service organizations. They can ask questions, obtain information, and seek assistance from service and government agencies on such topics as how to find reputable resources, meeting immediate and long-term needs, debris removal, storm-related insurance claims, legal services and more.
Admission is free and specifically offered to individuals and families affected by the April 10, 2013, tornado in Hazelwood. Those attending the event should bring a photo ID and a current utility bill with their address printed on it for verification purposes. Some of the agencies participating in this program include the following: American Red Cross – St. Louis Chapter; AmeriCorps St. Louis; Legal Services of Eastern Missouri; Long Term Recovery; City of Hazelwood; and United Way of Greater St. Louis and United Way 2-1-1.
