Man Charged with Throwing Baby to the Floor

BELLEVILLE, IL. (KMOX) – A rural Belleville man is in custody for allegedly slamming his daughter to the bathroom floor, throwing her against a wall and battering his wife.

35 year old Jason Taylor was arrested after his wife called police and reported she heard a loud thud upstairs and heard her daughter crying.

When she went to investigate she says her husband was yelling at the three-year-old, took her into a bedroom, continued to yell and then threw her against a wall.

Police say the mother reported she was slapped in the face when she tried to stop him.

Police say the mother had been struck with a hammer by her husband a few days earlier, but didnt report it.

When police arrived , Taylor had already left the home. They arrested him about twenty minutes later when he was walking back to the home in the 200 block of Carlyle East in unincorporated Belleville.

He is charged with multiple counts including aggravated battery to a child. Taylor is being held on $75,000 bond.
