Conceal Carry Legislation to Include 19 Year Olds
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (KMOX) - Should a 19 year old be allowed to carry a concealed weapon in Missouri?
Currently the age is 21, but under a bill passed in the Senate General Laws Committee conceal carry permission would be extended to 19 year olds.
“We have guaranteed in the constitution a right to keep and bear arms and if you believe one part of the constitution you have to believe all of it.” said Republican Representative Casey Guernsey.
The vote was 3-to-1.
St. Louis Senator Jamilah Nasheed was the only one to oppose the measure. She said St. Louis has too much gun violence.
That same bill would make it a felony to enforce federal laws infringing on gun rights in the state.
