ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — A teacher at Soldan High School in St. Louis faces several charges after prosecutors say he had sex with a student near the school where he worked.
David Marler, 32, was charged Tuesday with 5 counts of 2nd Degree Statutory Sodomy, 5 counts of Sexual Contact with a Student and 1 count of 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
According to court documents, Marler and a male student went to a home close to the school last Sunday (April 21) and engaged in several sexual acts including oral and anal sex.
The report also states that Marler gave the student an inhalant which caused him to become dizzy and lightheaded.
Marler is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
Police are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Marler to contact them at (314) 444-5385. A letter has been sent home with all students regarding Marler.

The Saint Louis Public School District has been made aware of allegations of professional misconduct by an employee at Soldan International Studies High School.
In keeping with District policy, upon learning of the allegations of misconduct the individual was immediately placed on a leave of absence and the District reported the matter to local law enforcement and the Missouri Division of Family Services for further investigation. The District will respond to this personnel matter in accordance with District policy and State law to ensure the protection of our students.
Saint Louis Public School District staff members are committed to providing an excellent education in a safe, nurturing environment for all students. The safety of students is of the highest priority at all District schools.
