ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) – St. Louis County police officers say a car theft suspect chambered a round into an assault rifle and pointed the weapon at them, early Saturday, prompting them to shoot and kill him.

Police spokesman Randy Vaughn says 29-year-old Andrew Bush of South County got into a fight, minutes before taking the car from outside KT’s Bar and Grill on Telegraph Road, “He (Bush) had been inside the bar, bragging about the weaponry inside his home. He was somewhat a regular of the bar.”

Officer Vaughn says Bush drove to his apartment and police followed.

It was at his doorstep that the fatal shooting occurred.
