Police: Explosives Found During Domestic Dispute
BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Police in Belleville say officers responding to a reported domestic dispute found an explosive device and firearms inside the home.
There was no immediate word Monday on any charges related to the disturbance reported early Saturday.
The Belleville News-Democrat reports that a woman told police she had an argument with her boyfriend who a witness says threatened to shoot the girlfriend.
Officers surrounded the house, and the boyfriend complied with directives to come out of the house. He was arrested and taken in for questioning.
Police say searchers of the residence then found several guns, ammunition and what appeared to be an explosive device that bomb specialists with the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office disposed.
