O’FALLON, IL (KMOX) – An ATM at the Scott Credit Union in O’Fallon, Illinois on West Highway 50 was the scene of a noontime robbery Friday.
O’Fallon Police Captain Mark Berry says two employees were preparing to load cash into the machine on the west side of the credit union when they say a suspect came up behind them and “forcibly” took the money. The employees called police.
The suspect is described as a white male last seen wearing a black hoodie and a flesh-colored mask. The victims told police he inferred he had a weapon but did not display one. Before police arrived, the suspect ran on foot towards the nearby Eagle Ridge apartments and business park.
Police using a K-9 unit searched for the suspect but say they didn’t find him. Captain Berry says they are still actively searching and the bank will remain closed for the rest of the day.
Investigators are also going over video surveillance from the scene.
