ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Murder charges have been filed against an off-duty Pagedale Reserve police officer.

Police say James Little, 34, was dropping off his child at the mother’s home in the 2100 block of Farrar around 6:30 p.m. when he got into an argument with the mother’s finance’, 32 year old William Dupree.

Investigators say the argument became physical and Little shot Dupree several times in the head. Dupree was pronounced dead at the scene.

Little has been charged with 1st degree murder, Armed Criminal Action and two counts of endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Little was a St. Louis police officer for five years. He left the department for personal reasons in January of 2007. Little remains in custody.
