Security Breach at St. Louis-Based Classical Guitar Society

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — It’s happened again — a credit card security breach puts some local customers at risk.

St. Louis Classical Guitar Society president William Ash tells KMOX News that they learned in late April that the San Francisco-based company, Vendini, that provides ticket services for them had been hacked.

“Any customers who’ve used our website in the last two years can contact us and we can give them the way to find out if there are any charges on their credit cards,” said Ash.

He says its the first time this has ever happened to the store.

“I’m very sorry this has happened, it was beyond our control in this case, but we always regret it when our customers have been put at risk.”

Ash add that while there was some concern that Vendini delayed announcing the problem publicly, credit card companies were immediately notified and those who used their credit cards on the Classical Guitar Society’s website won’t be charged for any fraudulent purchases.

In-person or phone sales transactions with the Guitar Society were not affected.
