ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Event organizers say last week’s drive to help tornado victims in Moore, Oklahoma was a huge success.
In just one 12 hour period, people all across St. Louis donated 80,000 lbs. (2 truckloads) of new merchandise, also over $18,000 in cash donations were turned over to the American Red Cross, St. Louis Chapter.
In a statement, organizers from Switch Marketing said the first truck of goods was delivered Saturday afternoon (less than 5 days after the tornado) to the Oak Crest Church of Christ disaster relief station in Oklahoma City. The second load of goods is expected to be delivered by Tuesday.
